By completing a booking with Fjordland Tours AS, you enter into a binding agreement and confirm your acceptance of the following terms and conditions. Please read this section carefully before booking.
2.1 Booking and Payment
- A booking is confirmed only upon receipt of the required payment or deposit, as confirmed in writing by Fjordland Tours AS
- All prices are listed in Norwegian Kroner (NOK) unless otherwise stated in writing
- Fjordland Tours AS reserves the right to adjust prices and availability prior to booking confirmation
- A booking confirmation email will be issued once payment has been received and the booking is secured
- For tours requiring a deposit, the remaining balance must be paid in full before the departure date, as specified in the booking confirmation
2.2 Participation Requirements
- Guests must be in suitable physical and mental health to participate in their selected tour
- Several tours involve hiking, steep or uneven terrain, and rapidly changing weather conditions. Guests are responsible for assessing their own fitness and capability before booking
- Minimum age requirements apply to specific tours as stated in the individual tour descriptions
- Guests must follow the instructions of their guide at all times during the tour
- Fjordland Tours AS reserves the right to refuse or remove any participant whose behaviour is deemed unsafe, disruptive, or contrary to the safety of the group, without refund
2.3 Meeting Times and Punctuality
- Guests are required to arrive at the designated meeting point at the stated time
- Late arrivals may be treated as a no-show at the guide’s discretion, with no refund issued
- Exact meeting point details will be provided in the booking confirmation
2.4 Weather and Itinerary Changes
- Tours operate in typical Norwegian weather conditions. Light rain and variable weather are not grounds for cancellation
- Routes, activities, and plans may be modified at the guide’s discretion due to safety concerns, adverse weather, or operational requirements
- Where an alternative activity of comparable value is provided, no refund will be issued for the original planned activity
- In the event of a full tour cancellation by Fjordland Tours AS, the terms of Section 1.4 apply
2.5 Liability
- Fjordland Tours AS shall not be liable for delays, disruptions, injuries, or losses arising from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to severe weather, road closures, transport failures, or third-party service failures
- Participation in tours involving hiking, outdoor activities, or water-based experiences is undertaken at the guest’s own risk, within the limits permitted by Norwegian law
- Fjordland Tours AS carries appropriate operator liability insurance as required under Norwegian law
2.6 Travel Insurance
- Travel and medical insurance is not included in the tour price
- All guests are strongly advised to arrange comprehensive travel insurance prior to departure, covering cancellation, medical expenses, emergency evacuation, and outdoor activities
- Fjordland Tours AS accepts no liability for costs arising from the absence of adequate travel insurance
2.7 Personal Belongings
- Guests are solely responsible for the safekeeping of their personal belongings throughout the tour
- Fjordland Tours AS accepts no liability for lost, stolen, or damaged personal items
2.8 Photography and Marketing
- Photographs and video footage may be taken during tours for use in marketing and promotional materials by Fjordland Tours AS
- Guests who do not wish to appear in such materials must inform the guide before the tour begins, and we will ensure their wishes are respected
2.9 Cancellation Policy
All cancellations and refunds are governed by the terms set out in Section 1 of this document. Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to Fjordland Tours AS via email.
2.10 Force Majeure
Fjordland Tours AS shall not be held liable for the failure to perform any obligation under these terms where such failure results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to:
- Severe weather events or natural disasters
- Government restrictions, travel advisories, or border closures
- Strikes, industrial action, or transport disruptions
- Pandemic, epidemic, or public health emergencies
In such circumstances, Fjordland Tours AS will make every reasonable effort to offer rescheduling, credit notes, or refunds where applicable and operationally possible.
2.11 Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with Norwegian law. Any disputes arising from or related to these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Norwegian courts, with venue in Stavanger, Norway.
